When Their Diagnosis Becomes Yours Too.

Breaking the Cycle

For many late-diagnosed women, it starts with their child.

An assessment that comes back with answers — and suddenly you're sitting with a diagnosis that explains your teenager, and a recognition that it explains a great deal about you too.

What you do now matters — not just for you, but for what they carry forward too

What This Intersection Looks Like

— A teenager whose school strain spills into every evening at home

— Escalation cycles that move faster than either of you intend

— Your own exhaustion running quietly beneath a still-functioning professional life

— The particular weight of recognising your own patterns in someone you love

— A household where everyone is stretched and you're holding most of it together

This is some of the most layered work there is — sitting at the intersection of late diagnosis, professional pressure, and intergenerational understanding.

What Breaking the Cycle Is

From the outside you're managing it.

But you're recalibrating your own identity post-diagnosis while simultaneously supporting a teenager through theirs — and the overlap between the two is where things get most complex.

This is structured coaching for that exact intersection.

We work across both dimensions — your own sustainability and the home dynamics that are making everything harder. We examine escalation patterns, the structures creating friction rather than stability, and how to build understanding and systems that work for both of you.

This is not parenting advice. It is not crisis counselling.

Research consistently shows that parental understanding of ADHD is one of the strongest predictors of better outcomes for young people with the condition.

This work is not about undoing the past. It's about ensuring that by the time your teenager leaves school, they have the self-awareness, the systems, and the support structures already in place — so they're not spending their twenties and thirties figuring out what you're only now uncovering yourself.

That's not a failure. That's the work.

The Intergenerational Thread

ADHD in teenagers rarely exists in isolation from the adults around them.

Where relevant, your own recalibration — unpacking late diagnosis, masking patterns, and the particular exhaustion of high-functioning ADHD — can run alongside the family work or separately.

Many clients find the two are inseparable.

What Families Say

"Once we understood how our son's brain worked, everything started to make more sense.

We're now able to respond more confidently in ways that support how he works and navigate our family dynamics.

We're in a much better position than we were a few months ago.

We feel like we can do this."
